The City of Orlando is so Fearful of Honest Public reaction to this “Politically Correct” (protect Illegal’s) “Action”, which they know is WRONG, SO they have called it……. “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY”…….HUH??? (See Resolution Below)
Whose Safety are they talking about???….Certainly NOT the Taxpayers!!! ….Certainly NOT the Legal Immigrants!!!….Certainly NOT the Voting Citizens!!…………This is Nothing more then a “Trojan Horse” Resolution on the Pathway to making Orlando a Sanctuary for Illegal’s…..When does the Voice of the People begin to mean something to these Deficient Politicians??
Point in Fact;…. It is just another way of telling Legal Immigrants and Citizens of America, that WE (The Taxpayers), come in (2nd),second,(in Our Own Country), as Orlando’s Enforcement Agencies must embrace a policy of ” We won’t Ask / We Don’t Tell”. All at the expense of the Honorable Citizens of Orlando, who actually thought Orlando’s City Council was working in Their Best interest???
NOTE; Section #2 of this Idiotic Resolution states ;….”no law-abiding individual will be routinely requested to provide their immigration status during any investigation by the Orlando Police Department. This applies to crime victims, witnesses, reporters, non-criminal traffic offenders, and others who have routine contact with an Orlando Police Officer.”
Public Questions; The first thing a Police Officer ask for is your I.D…..How do you determine who is Law-abiding, if you do not ask for some form of I.D.?? If you have none, should you be allowed to go Free? After-all, pursuing the Truth by a Police Officer will now appear to be a form of “Profiling??? Americans (of Law-Abiding status) everywhere have to present some form of Legal I.D, when pulled over /or stopped by the Police, so who determines or knows if one has committed the Crime of entering America Illegally, if you don’t ask???….How will we know, If we don’t ask???… Entering the United States Illegally is a Crime, therefore any Enforcement Officers who doesn’t investigate and / or determine if a Crime exist, is in Violation of their Sworn duties!! Maybe some Elected Officials are used to Ignoring their sworn duties,….. but…… Why Impose such unbecoming, and Unethical practices of our Police??…..This Resolution, enforceable or Not, is a Waste of Taxpayers dollars just to Pacify some Zealots who think the “World is Entitled to USE America”, and “America Owes everybody”…….Buffalo Chips to that!!! Perhaps some statistics will enlighten America to OBJECT and Defy this Resolution;
FACT; Florida has one of the highest levels of illegal immigration in the United States. An estimated 925,000 unauthorized immigrants lived in the state in 2012, according to a 2014 Pew Research Center review of Hispanic issues.
**These astounding CRIME numbers were compiled by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) using official Department of Justice data on criminal aliens in the nation’s correctional system;……
Between 2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens. In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%.
During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states. That 38% represents 7,085 murders out of the total of 18,643.
That 5.6% figure for the average illegal alien population in those five states comes from US Census estimates. We know the real number is double that official estimate. Yet, even if it is 11%, it is still shameful that the percentage of murders by criminal aliens is more than triple the illegal population in those states.
SHOULD WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL a FRIEND or FAMILY Member is MURDERED before, WE ASK ,……WHY THE POLICE DIDN’T ASK??

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY; PROVIDING FINDINGS, FOR SEVERABILITY; CORRECTION OF SCRIVENER’S ERRORS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, immigrants and refugees are a vital part of the civic, economic, and social life of the City of Orlando. Orlando is one of the most diverse, inclusive, and fastest growing cities in the United States; and
WHEREAS, The City of Orlando is an ethnically, racially, and religiously diverse city and has long derived its strength and prosperity from its diverse community, including those who identify as immigrants, and prides itself on their achievements; and
WHEREAS, the cooperation of all persons, both documented citizens and those without documentation status, is essential to achieve the City’s goals of protecting life and property, preventing crime, and resolving problems; and
WHEREAS, assistance from a person, whether documented or not, who is a victim of, or a witness to, a crime is important to promoting the safety of all its residents. The cooperation of the City’s immigrant communities is essential to prevent and solve crimes and maintain public order, safety, and security in the entire City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE. It is critical to the safety of everyone in the City of Orlando that all individuals, regardless of immigration status, are freely able to cooperate with the Orlando Police Department, to be protected by officers of that department, and to receive access to all services provided by the City of Orlando.
SECTION TWO. To that end, no law-abiding individual will be routinely requested to provide their immigration status during any investigation by the Orlando Police Department. This applies to crime victims, witnesses, reporters, non-criminal traffic offenders, and others who have routine contact with an Orlando Police Officer.
SECTION THREE. In furtherance of the U.S. Victims of Trafficking and Violence Preventive Act, the City of Orlando Police Department shall consider and sign a U Visa certification request if an individual is (i) the victim of a qualifying crime, and (ii) has been, is 35 being, or will likely be helpful in the direction, investigation, or prosecution of that crime.
SECTION FOUR. The City of Orlando recognizes that policy making and enforcement authority over immigration issues vests solely in the federal government of the United States of America.
SECTION FIVE. The City of Orlando is fully committed to complying with the U.S. Constitution, federal and state statutes, and laws regarding all matters, including immigration enforcement.
SECTION SIX. The City of Orlando does not operate any detention facilities. Therefore, no person’s detention therein could, nor will be extended by the Orlando Police Department based solely on that person’s immigration status, unless otherwise required by law.
SECTION SEVEN. The City of Orlando and the Orlando Police Department will adhere to these requirements and any violations will be addressed in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures governing discipline.
SECTION EIGHT. The City Attorney may correct scrivener’s errors found in this resolution by filing a corrected copy of this resolution with the City Clerk.
SECTION NINE. If any provision of this resolution or its application to any person or circumstance becomes contrary to any state or federal law or is held invalid by a court, other provisions or applications of this resolution will remain in effect, and to this end the provisions of 59 this resolution are severable.
SECTION TEN. This resolution takes effect immediately upon passage.
