What if America was once again first in education, productivity and defense?
WHAT IF?
I believe it is apparent that we need to make changes in our country so that we can have a better life and future to look forward to. Below is just a brief what if list in this article.
1. What if, instead of paying over $40,000 per year for each individual incarcerated we placed the offenders in the military to defend our country, educated and trained them to be a productive citizen?
2. What if, we had a three party system which would create competition thus bringing us closer to a democracy or federalized system. Often we read or hear how no one business should monopolize the market and we have established anti-trust laws to prevent this and yet the Government supports only a two party system?
3. What if, instead of taking $700,000,000,000.00 and feeding the top of the food chain in hope that the trickle down system works, we gave the consumer or home owner the difference between current market value and what they owe, on the condition that they trade to another home. example would be, what if the home owner owes $200,000.00 but the current market value is only $140,000.00, the government would pay the difference. The buyer would then benefit and so would the seller who would have the same issue, thus stabilizing the housing market. And as the market price moved up, the government would over a period of time not need to intervene?
4. What if, the principle above were applied to the automobile industry. The negative equity in a car usually gets rolled over into the next car bought, whatever the situation, the owner owes $20,000 but because of depreciation and the recession the car has a current value of $14,000.00. The government pays the bank the difference subject to, the car being bought is built in America?
5. What if, families making less then a certain amount were given an education grant to a community college or trade school, thus decreasing the rate of incarceration?
6. What if, free medical care were provided to all individuals who live in the United States starting with low income and welfare people. And over a reasonable period of time the system would be expanded to all individuals making up to a set income. We can expand our government programs without having to revamp the system?
7. What if, we abolished the IRS and established a Federal sales tax. Individuals on Government assistance programs would be exempt when using the Government cards, which would automatically remove the federal tax. Because of this, all individuals legal or not, would be taxed and we would have a more equitable taxation system?
